Chinese brand, XPeng, launches EVs in the UK

EV maker, XPeng, is the latest Chinese manufacturer to hit the UK’s shores, having signed a distribution deal with International Motors Ltd (IML).

Showcased at Goodwood, the XPeng G6 fully-electric coupé SUV will arrive first in early 2025.

This Tesla Model Y rival has an all-wheel drive powertrain delivering a 0-62mph time of under four seconds. This performance is combined with a range of up to 342 miles and recharging from 10% to 80% in 20 minutes. It has a top five-star rating from Euro NCAP.

In 2023, VW invested £554m in XPeng, to jointly develop two electric cars for delivery in China, expected in 2026.

XPeng is the latest brand to sign a distribution deal with International Motors, which already holds agreements with Isuzu, Subaru and GWM Ora.
