Ford has unveiled the Puma Gen-E, an electric variant of its best-selling compact SUV, priced from £29,995.
Competing with the Hyundai Kona and Jeep Avenger, it offers a 234-mile range, with UK deliveries expected in Spring 2025.
Powered by a 43kWh battery and 168PS motor driving the front wheels, it boasts an 8-second 0-60mph time, a 100mph top speed and a 23-minute 10%-80% recharge at 100kW.
Despite weighing 1560kg – that's 300kg more than the hybrid version – the Puma Gen-E retains its renowned agility and gains some practicality, with 574 litres of rear boot space, plus 43-litres of storage at the front.
Styling updates include a revised spoiler, bumper, and alloy wheels, while the cabin features a redesigned centre console and a 12-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity.
Standard kit includes LED headlights, parking sensors and a reversing camera. Premium trims add features like Matrix LED lights, B&O sound and a hands-free tailgate. Optional Winter and Driver Assistance packs are also available.
