Chinese van maker Farizon to launch new UK EV in 2025

A new Chinese van brand, Farizon, is set to launch in the UK early next year, offering an electric light commercial vehicle (LCV) called the SV, with a range of up to 225 miles and a payload of up to 1.3 tonnes.
Part of the Geely Group, which also owns Volvo, Polestar and Lotus, Farizon has designed the SV for the European market on a bespoke modular electric platform.

It promises benefits in cargo space, range, handling and safety, introducing the first drive-by-wire system in the global van market. Farizon claims this reduces stopping distances by 10%, increases range by 5% and improves steering response by 300%.

At launch, the SV will offer three lengths and three heights, with capacities ranging from 6.9 cubic metres to 13 cubic metres, and payloads between 1.1 tonnes and 1.3 tonnes.

Two battery options, 67kWh and 83kWh, will be available initially, with a larger 106kWh version to follow.

Jameel Motors Farizon Auto will handle imports and distribution in the UK, with ambitions to become a leading player by the decade’s end.

The franchised dealer model will provide national sales and aftersales coverage, complemented by a flagship dealership in London and a mobile technician network. Farizon is also working with vehicle converters on van conversions and racking prototypes, ensuring the SV meets the needs of UK fleets.
