BIK on EVs will increase by 1% post April 2025 - this has been a major concern for many fleets and company car drivers, well done to the UK government for making a sound decision and to the The Autumn Statement reveals that benefit-in-kind (BIK) tax for electric vehicles (EVs) will continue to be kept low to increase uptake, and would increase company car tax for EVs by 1% year-on-year for three years from 2025.
Meanwhile the AER Rate rises to 8ppm from December 1st 2022, this is below what most fleets would expect, however, the government has also committed to review each quarter. Staying with EV’s, from April 2025, electric vehicles will no longer be exempt from Vehicle Excise Duty.
You can hear the reaction on these three announcements at the EV Forums on Tuesday at 9 am.
