Dynamon’s Zero planning software has identified that 50% of Transport for London’s 962-vehicle engineering service fleet could switch to electric power.
The fleet optimisation specialist is helping TfL accelerate electrification by using data-driven insights to support the transition from internal combustion engine vehicles. Over 12 months, Zero software analysed TfL’s telematics data and operational patterns across 356 locations, including depots, offices, and bus stations.

The analysis identified optimal electric vehicle models, charging infrastructure needs, and efficient charging strategies. TfL’s support fleet requires dedicated on-site charging rather than reliance on public infrastructure. Zero recommended 36 primary charging locations, covering 90% of energy demand and reducing the required number of chargers by 43%.
Angus Webb, CEO of Dynamon, said Zero provides cost-effective strategies for fleet electrification. He highlighted its role in supporting TfL’s transition to zero-emission vehicles by improving charger utilisation by 35% and reducing public charging reliance by 25%.
