Geotab, a global leader in connected transportation solutions, has introduced two new products to help UK fleet managers shift from reactive to proactive management. The launch of Driver Risk Insights and Work Order Management aims to enhance safety records and vehicle maintenance, offering greater control and efficiency.
Improving driver safety through behaviour analysis
With commercial vehicles covering fewer miles before a collision and insurance costs rising, UK fleet managers are under increased pressure to reduce risk. Driver Risk Insights, an AI-powered tool within the Geotab Safety Center, provides deeper visibility into individual driver risk factors. Instead of focusing solely on vehicle data, this innovation assesses driver-specific risks, particularly useful for fleets with shared vehicles. By predicting collision risk at the driver level, fleet managers can implement targeted safety measures to reduce accidents, cut costs, and enhance driver performance.
Driver Risk Insights allows fleet operators to assess collision probability per driver, benchmark performance against similar drivers, and deliver proactive coaching via the Geotab Drive App, giving real-time feedback to help drivers improve their safety habits.
Sabina Martin, vice president of product management at Geotab, explains: “Fleets can’t afford to rely on reactive safety measures. By introducing AI-powered Driver Risk Insights, we’re helping fleet managers and drivers predict and prevent collisions, lower costs, and build a culture of ongoing safety improvement.”
Moving to predictive fleet maintenance
Geotab’s Work Order Management, integrated into the Geotab Maintenance Center, helps fleet managers reduce downtime and maintenance costs by centralising maintenance processes. Instead of relying on manual tracking and separate systems, fleet operators can schedule, monitor, and track maintenance activities efficiently in one place through the MyGeotab platform.
Key benefits include:
- A central hub for maintenance tracking, eliminating the need for multiple systems
- Enhanced operational efficiency, converting maintenance requests into work orders and analysing downtime costs
- Predictive maintenance, using advanced analytics to detect vehicles at risk of failure, allowing fleets to schedule servicing before costly breakdowns occur
“Fleet maintenance is a major cost driver, and unexpected breakdowns can significantly impact operations,” said Sabina Martin. “Work Order Management will enable UK fleets to move from reactive to predictive maintenance, improving efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring vehicles stay on the road.”
