The new MG S5, a compact SUV intended to replace the ZS EV, is built on MG’s dedicated EV platform. It offers improved performance, range and tax efficiency. Three models will be available from April, with prices starting at £28,495 for the SE Standard Range. This version features a 49kWh battery, offering a rapid 10–80% charge in 24 minutes and a maximum DC charging rate of 120kW.
The SE Long Range (£30,995) and Trophy Long Range (£33,495) come with a 64kWh battery, delivering up to 298 miles of range (SE) or 288 miles (Trophy). These charge in just 28 minutes at up to 139kW. All models are powered by a 231PS rear-mounted motor, achieving 0–62mph in 6.3 seconds.
As a fully-electric vehicle, the S5 qualifies for 2% Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) company car tax, making it highly attractive for business drivers. Standard features include MG Pilot Custom driver aids, five drive modes, a revised infotainment system with a 12.8-inch touchscreen and a simplified control interface, enhancing ease of use and driver comfort.
