Off-peak EV charging costs fall by up to 28%

Off-peak public EV charging costs fell by up to 28% in December, according to the AA EV Recharge Report, after a charge point provider scrapped variable pricing.

Jack Cousens, AA’s head of roads policy, said: “December saw a huge reduction in public charging prices, particularly at the quickest speeds.”

An AA survey of 14,600 drivers found 60% of EV users track charging costs, while 66% of petrol and diesel drivers focus on total refuelling costs. Interestingly, 16% don’t monitor fuel or charging expenses.
